Knife is a story about a villain, which is a fun perspective to indulge. I'm a big Tarantino fan, so I have this image of one of those really, hilariously ridiculous, gory revenge deaths. We don't have a lot of straight rock 'n' roll songs, so playing that one straight down is really, really fun.
Empty is a song about those moments, that sometimes can last days or weeks, when we feel jaded. With social media taking an evermore ominously dominant place in the world, it's easy to feel indifferent about things we see, read or hear everyday, whether they be beautiful or horrifying.
